Ready to get serious about offshore fishing? This 6-hour deep-water adventure takes you straight to the productive reefs and wrecks off Port Orange and Ponce Inlet, where the action runs hot all season long. We're talking about the kind of fishing that separates the casual weekend warriors from the real meat hunters – and trust me, you'll leave with coolers full of quality fish and stories that'll last a lifetime. Our 2023 23' C-Hawk is rigged and ready for up to 4 anglers who want to experience what Florida's offshore waters are really all about.
We kick off at 7am sharp from 81 Dunlawton Ave, giving us the entire morning bite when these fish are most active. The ride out to our fishing grounds takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on conditions and where the fish have been showing up. This isn't your typical inshore trip – we're heading to depths where the big boys live, targeting structure that holds everything from keeper snappers to trophy kingfish. The atmosphere is relaxed but focused, perfect for intermediate anglers who want to step up their game without dealing with the chaos of larger charter boats. You'll have plenty of room to fish comfortably, and with just four spots available, everyone gets personal attention and prime real estate along the rail.
Here's where things get interesting – we're not just dropping lines and hoping for the best. This trip combines the best of both worlds with proven bottom fishing techniques and strategic trolling passes. When we're working the reefs and wrecks, we're using quality bottom rigs with fresh bait to pull snappers and other structure-loving species up from the depths. Between spots, we'll deploy trolling lines to cover water and hunt down kingfish, cobia, and whatever else might be cruising the blue water. All your tackle, rods, and reels are included, along with fresh bait and ice to keep your catch in top condition. The boat's equipped with quality fish finders and GPS, so we're always fishing smart, not just hard. Don't worry about Florida fishing licenses either – we've got you covered there too, along with professional fish cleaning at the end of the day.
Grey Snapper are the bread and butter of this offshore fishery, and for good reason. These fish fight like they mean it, pulling drag and testing your skills on every hookup. Most of our greys run between 2-8 pounds, with the occasional double-digit fish keeping things exciting. They're most active during the cooler months from October through March, but we find them year-round on the deeper reefs. What makes them special is their incredible table fare – firm, white meat that's perfect for grilling or frying, and they're one of the few fish that actually taste better the day after you catch them.
King Mackerel are the speed demons of the offshore world, and Port Orange waters hold some serious fish. These silver bullets can reach 30+ pounds and will absolutely smoke your drag when they decide to make a run. Peak season runs from April through October, but we see kings year-round when conditions are right. They're ambush predators that love to hang around bait schools, and when you hook one, the whole boat knows it. The fight is spectacular – long runs, acrobatic jumps, and enough attitude to keep you talking about it for months.
Cobia are the wildcards that can make any trip legendary. These brown sharks (as locals call them) can show up anywhere from 20-50+ pounds and fight like a cross between a shark and a freight train. Spring and fall are prime time for cobia, especially around floating debris or cruising the surface. They're curious fish that will often come right up to the boat, giving you a shot with sight fishing techniques. The meat is outstanding – firm, white, and often compared to shark or mahi-mahi.
Red Snapper remain one of the most sought-after species in these waters, though seasons and regulations change frequently. When they're open, these fish are absolute gold – beautiful, delicious, and surprisingly strong fighters for their size. Most reds in our area run 3-10 pounds, with the occasional trophy pushing 15+. They're structure-oriented fish that live on the bottom around reefs and wrecks, often stacked up in good numbers when you find the right spot.
Lane Snapper might be smaller than their grey cousins, but they make up for it with sheer numbers and aggressive appetites. These colorful little fighters are perfect for action-packed fishing, especially when the bigger fish are being finicky. They're excellent eating despite their size, and kids absolutely love catching them. Lane snappers are active year-round and often save the day when other species aren't cooperating.
This is the kind of fishing trip that builds reputations – both for the fish you'll catch and the memories you'll make. Six hours on productive offshore waters with professional guidance, quality equipment, and access to some of Florida's best fishing grounds. The boat's modern, comfortable, and designed for serious fishing, while the 4-person limit ensures you're not fighting crowds for space or attention. Remember to bring your own snacks and drinks for the day, and prepare for the kind of offshore action that keeps anglers coming back season after season. These spots fill up fast, especially during peak fishing months, so don't wait too long to secure your date on the water.
